Questions, topic requests, spotted an error? We read every message. Students built this site: students keep it improving.

§ 01Get In Touch

Ask a maths question, suggest a topic you would like covered, or report any errors you find on the site, we read every message.

We try to reply to all genuine mathematical questions. If you are asking about a specific problem, please write out the full problem clearly, the more detail you give, the more useful our response can be. For error reports, please include the page name and the specific section or example that contains the error.

§ 02About This Project

Who builds this, and why it's free.

MathsTricks & Calculus was created and is maintained by Sphesihle Zangwa, a mathematician and IT software specialist, under Tech Titans Development, a South African–registered company. Every line of code, every explanation, and every design decision on this site was built independently, without outside funding or institutional backing.

This is an independent educational resource. It is not affiliated with any university, examination board, publisher, or tutoring service. The site is supported in part by advertising (via Google AdSense) to help cover the cost of hosting and continued development. Advertising has no influence over the mathematical content: no individual, organisation, or advertiser can pay for placement or favourable treatment on this site. It remains, and will always remain, free to access.

§ 03What to Ask — and What Not To

This is a teaching resource, not a homework service. There is a difference, and it matters.

We are very happy to receive: questions about concepts you do not understand after reading the relevant page; requests for specific topics to be added (integration techniques, differential equations, Taylor series, etc.); reports of mathematical errors, typos or broken examples anywhere on the site; and general feedback on what is and is not working in the explanations.

We will not do your assignments for you, but we will explain the concept behind any topic so thoroughly that you can do it yourself. That is a better deal, you keep the understanding, and you can apply it to any version of the problem your lecturer writes.

✦ Response Times This site is run with genuine care but limited resources. We aim to reply to all questions within a few days. Topic requests are noted and prioritised based on how many students ask for the same thing. Error reports are taken seriously and fixed as quickly as possible — if you have found an error, you are helping every student who reads this page after you.
